At Fern Crest Springs, we are proud to offer mountain-fresh eggs and 100% heritage AMBA-registered Meishan pork—globally renowned as the "Kobe Beef of pork" for its intense micro-marbling and deep red, "snow-flecked" texture. Prized for over 5,000 years, this heritage breed was once reserved for the imperial Chinese courts. Today, our hogs are raised as part of the family with exceptional care, receiving no antibiotics or hormones. They are fed a local, non-GMO, corn- and soy-free diet and are raised high above the floodplains of Western North Carolina. They receive endless cuddles from us & our feathered & furry friends here at the farm, and have never touched fluoridated or chemically treated water. As active members of the AMBA, our work has already helped move this breed from "critically endangered" to "threatened" status.
