Little Cedar Farm is a Registered White Dorper breeding farm and a USDA lamb meat producing farm. Dorpers are a hair breed of sheep, which means their meat is rich tasting almost like beef. They do not have wool, therefore; very little, to no lanolin. Which gives wool sheep that gamey- mutton taste. Our lambs are mostly grass fed. The farm is 68 acres of which 34 acres is pastured and the remaining is forested. All sheep have access to water, shelter and shade 24 hours a day. Our sheep are registered with the American Dorper Society as Full Bloods (lineage, that can be traced back to South Africa, where the breed first started ) and Purebred (93% or higher genetic of Dorpers) We sell breeding ewes, rams, ram lambs and ewe lambs to other producers and 4-H projects. We breed for a long back, strong and muscular body that will increase lamb and meat production. We use Piedmont Custom Meats as our abattoir.
